Video-Mediated Interpreting

چکیده

To better understand the empirical findings on video mediated interpreting (VMI) and accordingly offer pedagogical implications, a systematic critical review was conducted 27 relevant studies published in established journals from 2005 to 2022. Three major were obtained. First, VMI have increased number steadily since 2017, issues been explored by researchers various fields, such as translation studies, sociology, medicine. Second, during these 17 years had both strengths potential problems their research designs. Third, centered upon six issues, including (1) time, (2) financial cost benefits, (3) physical psychological costs, (4) communication quality users’ satisfaction, (5) acceptance, (6) strategies. Based existing implications for interpreter education discussed, particular importance of practice use strategies that facilitate VMI-based communication.
